The bright "Pearl of Shenshui" slowly opened, Zhao Yi, the Chinese pianist residing in the United States appeared on the piano stage and opened the curtain of the piano concert with a song Shenyang, oh Shenyang. Beautiful melodies flowed from her fingertips while the audience swayed left and right to the rhythm of the music. 

The first concert of the 4th Lang Lang Piano Plaza Performance Season-Sound of Peace Piano Concert was played at Shenyang Lang Lang Piano Plaza in Heping Sports Park at 18:00 on June 27. The melodious melody attracted people who took advantage of the holiday for an outing to stop and admire and take pictures. "The performance repertoire included Ode to the Yellow River and Evening Primrose. I couldn't help but sing along. Everyone cheered and clapped together, and this cultural atmosphere was fantastic!" Mr. Liu, a citizen said. 

Organized by the Publicity Department of Shenyang Municipal Committee CPC and the Publicity Department of Heping District Committee CPC, the Lang Lang Piano Plaza Performance Season has entered its fourth season, becoming the cultural card of Shenyang, the city of art. The 2020 performance season is a little later than in previous years, but the enthusiasm of the cultural volunteers is undiminished. This concert brought together more than 10 local outstanding piano players in Shenyang. They grew up with Lang Lang Piano Plaza and are the artistic spokespersons of Shenyang. 

Shi Lijia, a young pianist residing in the United States, has appeared in Lang Lang Piano Plaza more than 10 times. This time, she and Zhao Yi especially brought the Morning Song of Shengjing by the piano duet. The Morning Song of Shengjing is a piano piece that Lang Lang dedicated to his hometown and is a very familiar and favorite piece of music in Shenyang. "We performed this piece at the ‘Summer of Hunhe River’ activity the other day and the audience response was particularly positive, so we bring it back to the stage of Lang Lang Piano Plaza."

There was also a touching scene in the performance that night: Xue Miaoyan, in a burgundy dress, carefully walked out from backstage, but before she reached the piano and put down her score, the audience gave warm applause to the "mother-to-be". As the full-time piano art director and music theory teacher of the Children’s Choir of Shenyang Daily, Xue Miaoyan is seven months pregnant. When she was invited to perform, she accepted without hesitation. "Lang Lang Piano Plaza is a stage where you can fully engage with nature and interact and communicate with the audience at a distance. It brings so much happiness to everyone!"

In addition, the outstanding cultural volunteers presented classic songs such as Alla Turca and Hungarian Dance, No. 4, as well as the latest big hit, Jay Chou's new song Mojito. The previous "Sound of Peace" competition award-winning children also made a stunning appearance, showing the new strength of Shenyang as a city of art. 

Every summer, enjoying music at Lang Lang Piano Plaza is a way of life for many citizens. 

The performance ended in the music of the Summer of Hunhe River, and many of the audience were still in the mood. Every weekend and holiday in the evening (except special weather) in the next three months, citizens in Shenyang can enjoy the beautiful piano music at Lang Lang Piano Plaza and spend a beautiful summer time together.
