The year of 2024 marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France and Sino-French Cultural Tourism Year. To further promote Sino-French cultural exchanges, strengthen “Foreign Affairs Plus”and build“International Shenyang, on June 10, the Foreign Affairs Office of the Municipal Party Committee (Foreign Affairs Office of the Municipal Government), the Department of Publicity of the CPC Shenyang, Shenyang Municipal Bureau of Culture, Tourism, Radio and Television, Shenhe District Committee and Shenhe District Government and the Consulate General of France in Shenyang jointly held the “Hello, Shenyang”Sino-French Friendship Night Cultural Exchange Activity.  Foreigners in Shenyang were invited to enter the Shenhe District and experience Shenyang, thus to promote the revitalization and development of cultural tourism industry in Liaoning Province and Shenyang city. Duan Jiyang, Vice mayor of Shenyang Municipal Government, responsible comrades of relevant provincial and municipal departments and relevant leaders of Shenhe District attended the event. State media such as Xinhua News Agency, People's Daily Online, CNR, China Daily, Economic Daily, China News Service, China Tourism News, China Economic Herald, China Industry News, Hong Kong media such as Hong Kong Commercial Daily, Hong Kong Ta Kung Wen Wei, as well as LRTV Anchor Telling New Knowledge, Liaoshen Evening News, Liaoning Economic Journal, Shenyang Daily, Shenyang TV and other Liaoshen media carried out extensive coverage on the event.

The participants walked into the Shenyang Imperial Palace to learn about its historical origin and architectural style, as well as the historical culture symbolizing the auspicious meaning of wishing for good weather, prosperity and peace. The guests showed great interest in traditional Chinese culture and visited Da Zheng Hall and Phoenix Tower. The guests watched the Shenyang city promotional video, appreciated the wonderful performances of Chinese and French artists, Shenyang Acrobatic Troupe, Jiuyue Children's Choir of Shenyang Mass Art Museum, and personally felt the moving pictures of sharing beauty together.

At Shenyang Zhongjie Street, a national demonstration pedestrian street, guests watched the street view show and 361 degree light show along the way, walked into the Zhongjie Frozen Novelties, visited Zhong Yang Li Cultural & Tourism Scenic Spot, visited folk culture, watched intangible cultural heritage displays, experienced the delicious food and beautiful scenery of the Zhongjie Street, and felt the collision and vibrant international style of Shenyang's “ancient” and “new”. The guests said: “We always know that Shenyang Imperial Palace and Shenyang Zhongjie Street have a long history and great influence. Today, we finally feel that Shenyang is not only a famous historical and cultural city, but also full of vitality, passion, openness and inclusiveness.”

Emmanuel Loriot, Consul General of the French Consulate General in Shenyang, excitedly said: “There is such a splendid and beautiful Imperial Palace in Shenyang. I hope to promote exchanges and cooperation between Shenyang Imperial Palace and Palace of Versailles and Guimet Museum in France next year. Shenyang is becoming more and more internationalized. There are many world famous enterprises like Michelin, and I hope to arrange some exchange activities for French entrepreneurs next year. Northeast people are very direct, very frank, very enthusiastic, and very pragmatic. I like Shenyang people and northeast people best, and Shenyang people are Shenyang’s greatest advantage.
