At the invitation of the government of Yaoundé, the capital city of Cameroon, a sister city of our city, Ye Hang, Deputy Director of Shenyang Foreign Affairs Office, led a working group to visit the Yaoundé city government on November 10th. They held talks with Vice Mayor Ndzana Arnauld Philippe of Yaoundé on strengthening the relationship between our city and Yaoundé.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries on March 26, 2021, President Xi Jinping exchanged congratulatory messages with President Biya, in which the two sides said that they would take the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries as an opportunity to build a closer relationship of cooperation for the betterment of the two countries and their peoples. This visit is to implement the consensus of the two heads of country, renew the traditional friendship between the two cities, and strengthen the friendly relationship between the two cities at a higher level and in a wider range of fields. Shenyang is an important central city in Northeast China, a national advanced equipment manufacturing base, and a national historical and cultural city. At present, Shenyang is deeply implementing the spirit of President Xi Jinping's important speech at the Symposium on Promoting Comprehensive Revitalization of Northeast China in the New Era, fully implementing the three-year action of new breakthroughs in comprehensive revitalization, anchoring the overall goal of building a national central city, and accelerating the construction of a national modern comprehensive hub, a national advanced manufacturing center, a comprehensive national science center, a regional financial center and a regional cultural and creative center. This provides a broader space for deepening exchanges and cooperation with Yaoundé. This year coincides with the 25th anniversary of the friendship between the two cities, and it is hoped that on the basis of a number of landmark projects successfully implemented by China Shenyang International Economic and Technical Cooperation Co. Ltd. in Cameroon, practical cooperation between the two cities in the fields of infrastructure construction, cultural and sports exchanges and other areas will be further strengthened. And the Yaoundé municipal government, enterprises, young people and other people from all walks of life are welcome to visit Shenyang, to seek common development, to promote revitalization together, and to bring real benefits to the people of the two cities.

Ndzana Arnauld Philippe, Vice Mayor of Yaoundé, warmly welcomed the arrival of the working group of Shenyang Foreign Affairs Office and introduced the economic and social development of Yaoundé in recent years. He said he had visited Shenyang in 1998 on the occasion of the establishment of the sister cities relationship between the two cities, witnessed the development of the relationship between the two cities from simple to deep, and hoped that the visit of the working group as an opportunity to further deepen the friendship and cooperation between the two cities in the fields of economy and trade, culture, education, sports and other areas, and welcome more Shenyang enterprises to come to Yaoundé to invest and develop, and to achieve win-win development.
