From June 25th to 27th, the Australian Ambassador to China, Scott Dewar, and his delegation visited Shenyang to exchange ideas with our city on further deepening cooperation in multiple fields. Wu Tingbao, Standing Member of CPC Shenyang Municipal Committee , met with Ambassador Scott Dewar and his delegation.

Wu Tingbao stated that Shenyang is an important central city in Northeast China, with a profound cultural heritage, a strong industrial foundation, abundant innovative resources, obvious advantages in opening up, and prosperous commerce. Currently, Shenyang is accelerating the construction of a national central city, focusing on building "one hub and four centers", and its economic and social development is showing a good trend of upward growth and vitality. In recent years, Shenyang and Australia have had friendly exchanges and close cooperation, achieving a series of pragmatic results. In May this year, Mayor Lyu Zhicheng led a friendly economic and trade delegation from Shenyang to visit Australia, achieving fruitful results. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Australia, and the development of China Australia relations faces important opportunities. It is the hope that both sides can work together, build platforms, and promote development, further strengthen high-level visits, deepen cooperation in economy, trade, and culture, and contribute to local exchanges and cooperation between China and Australia.

Scott Dewar stated that Shenyang is a livable city with a long and rich history, prosperous economic development, and active economic and trade exchanges. We look forward to further deepening practical cooperation in traditional fields such as agricultural trade, energy resources, tourism, education, and continuously expanding cooperation in new fields such as sports and health care, and jointly building a mutually beneficial and win-win partnership.

Next, Shenyang Foreign Affairs Office will take the visit of the ambassador and the 10th anniversary of the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Australia as an opportunity to deeply implement the important consensus made by leaders of the two countries, deepen practical exchanges with Australia in high-level visits, economic, trade, and cultural exchanges, and promote stable and far-reaching local cooperation between China and Australia.
