From November 15 to 19, municipal delegation from Jinja City, Uganda, headed by Mula Anthony, Director General of Busoga Consortium for Development, visited Shenyang. Guo Hongyan, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Shenyang Municipal People’s Government, met with the delegation, and the two sides had in-depth exchanges on issues such as holding the anniversary celebration, carrying out high-level visits and promoting all-round cooperation.

Guo Hongyan said that The Chinese State Council has officially approved the "Shenyang Territorial and Spatial Master Plan (2021-2035)", positioning Shenyang as an international central city in Northeast Asia, a national historical and cultural city, and an international comprehensive transportation hub. The year 2024 will be a milestone for China-Africa relations. Shenyang attaches great importance to friendly exchanges with Africa, especially Jinda City, Uganda. Shenyang is willing to work with Jinja to take the opportunity of the fifth anniversary of the establishing the friendship city relationship to enhance mutual visits of high-level delegations, create more platforms and carriers, and carry out diversified exchange activities in agriculture, economy and trade, education, culture and other fields，to achieve more results in practical cooperation.

Mula Anthony said that Jinja city is the second largest city in Uganda, which is one of the sources of the world's longest river Nile, with the advantages in geographical location, rich water and power resources and industrial cluster. It is the  hope to carry out in-depth cooperation with Shenyang in industry, agriculture and other fields, and welcome Shenyang enterprises to visit and invest in Jinja, so as to promote mutual beneficial and common development.

The delegation visited Shenyang Medical College and Shenyang Polytechnic College to draw on advanced educational and teaching method, exchange cooperation ideas, and signed a memorandum of understanding with the two colleges respectively. The delegation visited Shenyang Wellhope Food Co., Ltd. and Liaoning Xinfengyuan Food Co., LTD., to get to know Shenyang's agricultural resources utilization, food processing, extension of industrial chain and other aspects in detail, and spoke highly of the modern agriculture, food processing and manufacturing industry.

Jinja city is an important industrial city in Uganda, with an area of 734 km2 and a permanent population of about 600,000. The city is located on the east bank of the Nile River and is the location of the world's second largest freshwater lake, Lake Victoria, which is  about 80 kilometers away from Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. Shenyang and Jinja City established friendship city relationship in October 2020.
