On March 27th, "Hello Shenyang" Global Promotion Event (Kyushu, Japan) was successfully held in Fukuoka City during the Kyushu China-Japan Friendship Exchange Conference. Leaders from the governments and parliaments of local authorities in Kyushu, Japan, representatives from business community, China-Japan friendship organizations and media, as well as the leader of Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and representatives from relevant provinces and cities gathered together to renew friendship and seek common development.

This promotion was held during the Kyushu China-Japan Friendship Exchange Conference. Chen Shuangwei, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Shenyang Municipal Government, comprehensively promoted Shenyang's history and culture, industrial foundation, scientific and educational resources, external exchanges and the construction of an international central city in Northeast Asia, fully demonstrating Shenyang's rapidly developing new outlook. The fruitful achievements of Shenyang's long-term efforts to consolidate cooperation with Japan in friendly exchanges and practical cooperation in various fields were also introduced, focusing on Shenyang’s innovation to build a benchmark city for international friendship cities and a central city for international exchanges in Northeast Asia and practices of actively deepening exchanges and cooperation in the fields of economy, trade and culture.

Director Chen Shuangwei said that Shenyang has profound cultural heritage, strong industrial strength, abundant cultural, sports and tourism resources and active foreign exchanges. It is a happy and harmonious city suitable for living, working and traveling. In October last year, the State Council officially approved the "Territorial and Spatial Master  Plan of Shenyang (2021-2035)", clarifying that Shenyang's urban positioning has been upgraded from an "important central city in Northeast China" to an "international central city in Northeast Asia". This is a new mission, opportunity and expectation given to Shenyang by the country.

Since 2023, we have anchored the construction of a benchmark city for international friendship cities and a central city for international exchanges in Northeast Asia, continuously strengthened "Foreign Affairs+" and created an upgraded version of "International Shenyang". We have successively launched a series of brand activities such as "Hello Shenyang" Global Promotion Event and "International Friendship City Mayor Exchange Day", which have played a positive role in enhancing Shenyang's international image, expanding its international influence and promoting foreign economic and trade cooperation and people-to-people exchanges. At the same time, "Hello Shenyang" invitation was sent to the attending representatives, welcoming everyone to pay attention to, learn about, visit and realize dreams in the city.

Director Chen Shuangwei stated that Shenyang is a tourist destination city in China. Last year, Shenyang received over 200 million domestic and foreign tourists. Fukuoka is the central city of Kyushu region in Japan and a famous tourist destination. Both sides have strong complementarity and enormous potential for cooperation in areas such as automobiles, machinery manufacturing, electronic information, finance, logistics, and tourism. It is the hope that both sides take this Kyushu China-Japan Friendship Exchange Conference as an opportunity to embark on a new journey of friendly exchanges and cooperation with Fukuoka and Japan.
