On April 29th, the opening ceremony of the 19th "Festival Croisements" in Northeast China was held at the Sanhao Campus of Shenyang Conservatory of Music. More than 300 guests attended the event, including, the Consul General of France in Shenyang, Mr.Emmaunel Loriot, Minister Counselor of the French Embassy in China, Mr. Nicolas Pillerel, and leaders of provincial and municipal foreign affairs offices and other relevant departments .
The opening ceremony of the festival in Northeast China kicked off with an achievement exhibition of the contemporary dance choreography workshop, which was a collaboration between French choreographer Julien LESTEL and the Dance College of Shenyang Conservatory of Music. The activities in Northeast China cover multiple sections including visual arts, performing arts, dance, music, books and philosophy, and industrial design. The "Graphic Novel Festival" will gather Chinese and French cartoonists to explore the charm of cartoon art together, and the "Fête de la Musique" will also celebrate its 10th anniversary in Northeast China. Events such as the group exhibition "Grand Palais de la Photographie" from the French National Library, the solo art exhibition of contemporary painter Pierre Boncompain, the Trio Parrhès 3ia in chamber music, and the "Fragrance and Music" perfume jazz concert that perfectly combines the sense of hearing and smell will also be staged successively. During the festival, a communication platform between Shenyang and France in fields of cheongsam embroidery craftsmanship and contemporary acrobatics will be established, promoting resident creation by Chinese and French artists in multiple fields such as dance, music, and literature, and further deepening cultural exchanges and cooperation between China and France.
Since its establishment in 2006, now the "Festival Croisements" has become the largest foreign art festival in China and one of the most influential cultural events of France overseas. The 19th "Festival Croisements" will be successively held in 31 cities across China from April to July, presenting 325 activities and 62 projects, and further promoting exchanges and cooperation between artists and cultural institutions of China and France.
