During the 2025 SCO Forum on People-to-People Friendship and the Forum on Friendship Cities, a media delegation from SCO countries, consisting of 12 central and local media outlets with 48 journalists from China, and 18 foreign journalists from 13 countries, participated in the coverage. As of July 14, major domestic media have published 75 reports on the forum, including 18 from national-level media, 15 from provincial-level media, and 42 from municipal-level media. Foreign media have published 92 reports on the forum.

CCTV's Xinwen Lianbo on July 4 covered the grand opening ceremony and the main forum. People's Daily carried special reports on the forum on July 5 and 10 respectively. Kyrgyzstan's State Secretary Imankulov and Deputy Chairman of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan Asgarov accepted exclusive interviews from Liaoning Daily and Liaoning TV respectively. Municipal media outlets have jointly launched special columns titled "Forging a New Frontier in Opening-Up," delivering extensive coverage across three phases: pre-event preparations, live forum reporting, and post-event impact assessment, alongside interviews with 20+ Chinese and international delegates. Over two hundred multimedia pieces were published—including posters, explainers, short videos, instant commentaries, and host perspectives.
