CRI Liaoning Chanel News ( Yang Wei ) : On May 25th, "Here come the consular officers - Hello, Shenyang" Consular Officers’ Tagging Event was launched in the Old Beishi Area.

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the "the Belt and Road" initiative and the first year of Shenyang's three-year action to implement a new breakthrough in comprehensive revitalization. Consular officers from eight consulates general in Shenyang, including the United States, Japan, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Russia, the Repulic of Korea, France, Germany, and Australia, together with overseas students from countries along the "the Belt and Road", were invited to this event to enter the Old Beishi Area, feel the charm of national night culture and tourism consumption cluster, national tourism and leisure area, and touch the temperature of Shenyang through their own experience.

This is also another international communication activity launched by Shenyang after the "Silk Road Global Youth Network Celebrity Big V Tagging Shooting Season · Season One" event. This event is hosted by the Office of the Foreign Affairs Work Committee of the Communist Party of Shenyang Municipal Committee, the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shenyang Municipal People's Government, the CPC Heping District Committee, and the Heping District People's Government.

During the event, consular officers and international students walked into the immersive commercial complex of "Real Stuff" in the southern district of Old Beishi Area to explore the treasures and delicacies, tasting the specialties of Shenyang; Watching traditional cross talk performances, watching intangible cultural heritage wrestling skills, and experiencing the long history of Shenyang; Unlock unique cultural and creative gifts and experience the romantic and diverse Shenyang; Appreciate the characteristic performance of "Phoenix Dance in the Sky" and experience the fashionable and happy Shenyang.

Wang Bin, member of the Standing Committee of the Heping District Committee and Deputy Head of Heping District, shared the long history of the Heping District with consular officials. When he heard the story of Old Beishi Area being told in stand-up comedy, he expressed the hope of telling the story of Old Beishi Area to the world.

Consular officers and international students also walked into the Europe-style Street on Zhongshan Road, admiring European style old buildings with various classical architectural styles such as Baroque, Victorian, and Roman on both sides, and experiencing the romantic and fashionable Shenyang; Taste the unique halal flavor cuisine of Shenyang, which has been passed down for a century - Ma’s Shaomai, founded in the first year of the Jiaqing reign of the Qing Dynasty (1796).

"Gather it with your hands, ball it up, pinch it, done." Under the prompting of the staff of Ma's Shaomai, Emmanuel Loriot, Consul General of the Consulate General of France in Shenyang, wrapped a Shaomai in a few seconds, and after it was finished, Consul General Emmanuel Loriot   jokingly asked, "Can I eat my own Shaomai  later?" It drew laughter and applause from everyone.

Consul Attaches of the German Consulate General in Shenyang, Artur and Suttinan were interested in the European-style buildings on both sides of Zhongshan Road. They said it was very kind to see European-style buildings in Shenyang, and it was very good that Shenyang had preserved these buildings well and was still continuing to use them.

Bao Bei, Nigerian international student from College of Literature, Shenyang Normal University  has come to Shenyang for more than five years. He is a graduate and very interested in Shenyang's culture, "Usually I learn Chinese culture from books, and today I feel that the culture really 'comes alive'."
