Shenyang FAO Conducts Research Visits to Japanese and ROK Organizations and Enterprises in Shenyang

A working group of Shenyang Foreign Affairs Office recently visited Shenyang Trade Center of Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (Kotra), Shenyang Branch of MUFG Bank (China), Ltd. and Shenyang Lawson, Inc for in-depth meetings with heads of the organizations and enterprises and research on current conditions and needs of the enterprises, and exchanged views on how to deepen cooperation.

The working group noted that Shenyang has been vigorously implementing the guiding principles of the important speeches made by General Secretary Xi Jinping on promoting the full revitalization of Northeast China and Liaoning, focusing on building itself into a national central city and an international central city in Northeast Asia. Since last year, acting on the working plan of the CPC Shenyang Municipal Committee and Shenyang Municipal Government, Shenyang Foreign Affairs Office has continuously implemented the initiative of making full use of the foreign affairs plus model and striving to build Shenyang into a world-class city and hosted the Hello Shenyang global promotion events in world-renowned cities such as Paris, France, Geneva, Switzerland, Chicago, US, Tokyo, Japan, Seoul, ROK and Sydney, Australia. And the influence and reputation of the Hello Shenyang brand has been continuously raised. Shenyang Foreign Affairs Office has proactively built high standard international public service system and strengthened the development of Shenyang Immigration Service Center, international communities, international schools and international hospitals, which has helped promote sound development of foreign enterprises and foreign nationals in Shenyang. It is suggested regular liaison mechanism be set up to further strengthen communication and coordination. Shenyang Foreign Affairs Office will continue to provide high-quality services to the enterprises and help solve difficulties and problems they meet. It is also hoped that efforts can be made to jointly set up platforms and build on past collaboration to further explore areas of cooperation. And the organizations and enterprises can help promote Shenyang and attract more Japanese and ROK enterprises to develop in Shenyang.

Kim Sang hwan, Director of the Shenyang Trade Center of Kotra highly praised the efforts and achievements made by Shenyang in serving foreign-funded enterprises, foreign nationals, and building an international city. He stated that he would continue to promote pragmatic exchanges and cooperation between ROK and Shenyang, while continuously deepening economic and trade investment cooperation, focusing on strengthening industrial chain and supply chain cooperation to achieve mutual benefit and win-win cooperation.

Yao Yun, President of MUFG Bank Shenyang Branch stated that the development of Shenyang Branch cannot be separated from the care and support of the municipal government. MUFG Bank has participated in the "Hello Shenyang" global promotion event held in Japan multiple times, and was the first to experience the development and changes in Shenyang, playing a positive role in promoting Japanese companies to enter Shenyang. In the future, the bank will continue to support various foreign-related activities carried out in Shenyang, actively build communication and cooperation platforms, and promote Shenyang to customer enterprises.

Tokita Takashi, General Representative of Lawson (China) Northeast Region and General Manager of Shenyang Lawson, stated that since entering Shenyang market in 2019, Lawson has fully utilized the local market advantages in to promote rapid development in Shenyang and Liaoning Province, achieving satisfactory results. He is very grateful for the support and assistance provided by the Foreign Affairs Office. Next, Lawson will continue to maintain close cooperation with local brands in Shenyang, accelerate the expansion of the Northeast market through product upgrading and service innovation, facilitate the entry of Japanese characteristic small and medium-sized enterprises into Shenyang, promote Shenyang's opening up to the outside world and achieve high-quality development, and continuously enhance the city's competitiveness.
