As China expands the visa-free policy for more countries, Shenyang Taoxian International Airport, as a port that is eligible for visa-free transit policy, is seeing an inbound peak.
According to statistics from Shenyang Customs, since the beginning of the summer flight season starting from June 20, the number of inbound flights at Shenyang Taoxian International Airport has amounted to 281 and the number of passengers has reached 46,900, increasing by 11.07% and 16.88% month-on-month respectively.
It is understood that citizens from 54 countries, including the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, holding valid international travel documents and onward tickets with confirmed dates and seats within 144 hours, can transit through 37 ports including Beijing, Tianjin, Shijiazhuang, Qinhuangdao and Shenyang to a third country or region without needing a visa and stay within the specified area for up to 144 hours. During their stay, they can engage in short-term activities such as tourism, business, visiting and family visit.
Since the beginning of this year, the popularity of foreign tourists from Japan, the ROK, Europe and Southeast Asia visiting Shenyang has been on the rise.
In order to provide better service, the customs at Shenyang Taoxian International Airport has set up bilingual signs for the guide to luggage inspection, voluntary relinquishment of goods and others, and arranged staff specializing in English and lesser-used languages to provide support and guidance.
