In order to further deepen the friendly exchanges between Shenyang and consulates general in the city, as well as to establish a platform for districts and counties (city) of Shenyang to promote exchange and cooperation in various fields with these consulates, on October 16, the Foreign Affairs Office, in cooperation with the governments of Liaozhong District and Sujiatun District, organized the event under the theme "Hello, Shenyang" – Consular Officials' Autumn Visit to Shenyang. Consul General Emmanuel Loriot of France, Consul General Hendrik Barkeling of Germany, along with consular officials from the United States, Republic of Korea, Russia, and Australia, were invited to participate in the activities.
The consular officials visited Panjiapu Town in Liaozhong District, where they experienced the rich red culture and its development, learned about the town's historical evolution, enjoyed the pleasures of fruit harvesting, and enjoyed the beauty of autumn landscapes. During the exchange meeting, Yang Xiaobo, District Chief of Liaozhong, introduced the rapid development and economic and trade relations with countries such as Russia, Australia, and ROK in key areas. At Voestalpine Automotive Components in Sujiatun District, the consular officials were introduced to the globally leading steel technology and unique processes, offering them insights into the achievements of advanced manufacturing sector in Shenyang. Lei Yu, Deputy District Chief of Sujiatun, gave a comprehensive presentation on the geological advantages, diversified industrial development, and business-friendly investment environment of the region. The consular officials expressed their deep appreciation for Shenyang's positive development trends and the harmonious environment between people and nature. They also conveyed their intentions to actively promote further exchanges and cooperation between their respective countries and Shenyang in economic, trade, and cultural fields.
Chen Shuangwei, Director of the Shenyang Foreign Affairs Office, emphasized that Shenyang is currently accelerating its development into a national central city and a Northeast Asia international central city. The city is fully committed to advancing industrial transformation, urban development, and social innovation. Additionally, Shenyang is vigorously implementing a three-year action plan for breakthrough in comprehensive revitalization and a special initiative, "Revitalizing through New Breakthroughs, Racing to be the Pioneer". Chen called on consulates to serve as bridges, supporters, and active participants in Shenyang’s revitalization and development, fostering cooperation, sharing opportunities, and achieving mutual success.
Next, the Shenyang Foreign Affairs Office will continue to organize the "Hello, Shenyang" Consular Officials’ Visits series events to showcase Shenyang’s regional culture, promote its key industries, and establish platforms for international exchange and cooperation so as to contribute to Shenyang’s effort of becoming an international central city in Northeast Asia and to play a pioneering role in open cooperation in the region.
