The opening ceremony of the First "Sound of Peace" China Shenyang Children's Chorus Festival was held in Shengjing Grand Theatre on the evening of August 18. This chorus festival is also one of the main activities of "The Magnificent 70-Year Struggle for a New Era" The 5th Shenyang Chorus Music Season. Li Xiaoxiang, Vice Director and Secretary-General of China Chorus Association, the former Vice President and Artistic Director of China National Opera and Dance Drama Theater appeared at the scene and awarded "The Children's Chorus Base of China Chorus Association" to Heping District, which also marked that Shenyang has become an important supporting force for the development of children's chorus in China.

At the VOICES FOR PEACE 2019 held in Italy in May this year, the Children's Choir of Shenyang Daily won two gold awards in the Children's Choir Category and the Folklore Category. They also made the audience review Ga La Wen the nursery rhyme that won the international gold award.

International attention: Foreign friends know Shenyang through chorus

It doesn't mean a thing by the Children's Choir of Northeast Yucai Bilingual School made the opening ceremony full of international style. The organizers invited foreign friends from Ethiopia, Palestine, Panama, Cuba and other national radio and television authorities to watch the performance.

Burmese girl Thein May Oo Lian used several "Amazing" to describe the feeling of watching the opening ceremony. She said the children's voice was pure and natural, and the spirit of unity they showed impressed her. "I heard that the children who performed in the opening ceremony came from all over China, and I was fortunate to experience such a high level of Chinese children's chorus in Shenyang. We haven't held any high-level or large-scale performances in Myanmar, and I hope our children will have the opportunity to come to Shenyang to exchange ideas and experience the rich artistic atmosphere here. "This is Thein May Oo Lian's first visit to Shenyang. "There is no better way to know Shenyang through children's chorus."

"Sound of Peace" China Shenyang Children's Chorus Festival will last until August 20. There will also be several activities including group competition, chorus master class workshops, friendly exchange concerts and a closing ceremony.
