The 2019-2020 Shenyang winter tourism season begins in December 2019 and will run to March 2020, offering more than 120 winter activities for visitors -- according to a promotional meeting held in Shenyang, capital of Northeast China’s Liaoning province, on Dec 12.

Officials said that this winter the tourism activities are available in all districts and counties in Shenyang city, featuring ice and snow sports, hot springs and the traditional culture of the Manchu ethnic group and Northeast China.

Activities will be staged on six themes: namely winter culture, sports, hot springs, folk customs, food and commerce and trade.

The city has also launched tourist routes featuring the culture of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) and the ice and snow culture in Shenyang. It has also recommended 25 cultural and tourism hotspots in the city.

In addition, Fushun, Liaoyang, and Shenyang in Liaoning province, as well as Beijing will cooperate to launch cultural activities during the winter tourism season, officials said.
