On November 29th, Chen Shuangwei, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Shenyang Municipal Government, and his work group visited Minister Counselor Myriam Pavageau of the French Embassy in China, for discussion on deepening exchanges and cooperation in multiple fields such as economy, trade, culture, and tourism.

Director Chen Shuangwei stated that in March and October of this year, Wang Xinwei, Secretary of Shenyang Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, and Lyu Zhicheng, Mayor of Shenyang, respectively visited France, going to key French enterprises such as Airbus, Michelin, Plastic Omnium, and Faurecia, as well as cultural institutions such as Musée Guimet, to discuss and promote a number of key projects. Notably, the "Hello, Shenyang" Global Promotion (Paris Station) Event was successfully held and widely acclaimed. Currently, Shenyang is constructing international hospitals, international schools, and international communities with high standards, with an aim to build first-class business environment. We hope to participate in the series events celebrating the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France with the French Embassy in 2024 and jointly hold the Sino French Tourism Week.

Minister Counselor Myriam Pavageau noted that under the joint leadership of President Xi Jinping and President Macron, the close and lasting comprehensive strategic partnership between China and France has deepened. She is willing to continue promoting exchanges and cooperation in multiple fields with Shenyang, and accompanying Ambassador Bertrand Lortholary on his visit to Shenyang in future time.

Both sides agreed to further strengthen cooperation in the following areas next year. First, to facilitate Ambassador Bertrand Lortholary’s visit to Shenyang to attend the Sino French Tourism Week. Second, to promote the launch of Galeries Lafayette in Shenhe District as its first store in Northeast China , create a distinctive business form, and innovate consumption scenes. Third, to invite senior executives from French companies to visit Shenyang to further connect with projects and seek cooperation; Promote the establishment of friendly and cooperative districts between Shenhe District of Shenyang and 8th arrondissement of Paris, and promote cooperation between the two districts in areas such as culture and education. Fourth, to invite French musicians, symphony orchestras, and football clubs to visit Shenyang and promote cultural, educational, and tourism exchanges such as youth summer camps. Fifth, to promote the exchange of collections between the Shenyang Palace Museum and Musée Guimet, further adding to the content of the Sino French Cultural Tourism Year.
