From June 5 to 7, Chatchai Viriyavejakul, Thailand’s Ambassador to China, led a delegation to Shenyang and conducted extensive exchanges with relevant departments and enterprises on further strengthening communication and cooperation in sectors such as economy, trade, culture, tourism and technology.
Director Chen Shuangwei of Shenyang Foreign Affairs Office held exchanges with Ambassador Chatchai Viriyavejakul. Director Chen noted that the past few years have witnessed consolidated multi-sectoral cooperation, frequent mutual governmental visits, deepening people-to-people exchanges and fruitful economic and trade cooperation outcomes between Shenyang and Thailand. The friendly and cooperative relationship established between Shenyang and Rayong in 2007 also contributed to China-Thailand friendship. The next year will mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand. It is hoped that the two sides act on the common understandings between leaders of the two countries, further enhance cooperation in sectors including economy, trade, tourism, culture and agriculture, upgrade and invigorate friendly and cooperative relationship between Shenyang and Rayong and write a new chapter of sub-national cooperation between China and Thailand. Ambassador Chatchai Viriyavejakul thanked Shenyang Foreign Affairs Office for its warm reception and thoughtful arrangements and noted that Shenyang is a vibrant city with huge development potential. It is expected that the two sides can strengthen economic and trade cooperation as well as people-to-people exchanges for win-win outcomes.
The delegation visited Siasun Robot & Automation Co Ltd and BMW Brilliance Tiexi Plant. At Siasun, the delegation visited the exhibition hall and manufacturing shop and learned about the development history, strategies, international cooperation projects, product R&D as well as upstream and downstream enterprises of the company. At BBA Tiexi Plant, the delegation was briefed about the plant, watched the video about BBA and visited the press shop and body shop to have a first-hand experience of the modern, intelligent and automatic production process and the philosophy of green, environmental-friendly and sustainable development of industrial manufacturing enterprises in Shenyang. By visiting the enterprises, the delegation had an in-depth understanding of the solid foundation and leading position of Shenyang in advanced manufacturing and hi-tech R&D and innovation, and is full of expectations on further strengthening cooperation between Shenyang and Thailand in technology and manufacturing.
The delegation also visited Shenyang Imperial Palace and the Zhaoling Mausoleum, experienced profound historical and cultural heritages of Shenyang, and expressed readiness to facilitate tourism and cultural exchanges and cooperation between Shenyang and Thailand. Ambassador Chatchai Viriyavejakul received a “Hello Shenyang” interview at Shenyang Imperial Palace, during which he spoke highly of the development of Shenyang as an international city and looked forward to multi-sectoral exchanges and cooperation including tourism between Shenyang and Thailand.
In the next steps, Shenyang Foreign Affairs Office will take Ambassador Chatchai Viriyavejakul’s visit and the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand as an opportunity to vigorously act on the important common understandings between heads of state of the two countries, further promote in-depth exchanges between Shenyang and Thailand in sectors such as tourism, economy, trade and technology, and facilitate sub-national cooperation between China and Thailand to deliver more tangible outcomes.
