Recently, the "International Shenyang Series #International Shenyang's Strength#" videos, produced collaboratively by China Daily and Shenyang Foreign Affairs Office, won the third prize at the 33rd Liaoning News Awards. The series, consisting of 17 episodes, features key leaders from the Foreign Affairs Office, Commerce Bureau, Culture, Tourism, Radio and television Bureau, Sports Bureau, and 13 districts and counties presenting Shenyang's features in English. This initiative aims to promote high-level opening up, achieve high-quality development, and continually enhance Shenyang’s international reputation and influence.
Since last year, Foreign Affairs Office has focused on strengthening the "International Shenyang" initiative. In collaboration with central and provincial media such as Xinhua News Agency, China Daily, and People's Daily Online, a comprehensive "Hello, Shenyang" brand promotion matrix has been developed, which includes multilingual special reports in English, German, French, Russian, Spanish, Japanese, and Korean. On June 20, 2023, the "Hello, Shenyang" global promotion event (Tokyo) was successfully held in Tokyo. It was simultaneously published in four languages across 29 countries in Europe, America, and the Asia-Pacific region. The coverage reached over 620 media outlets, with a total reach of 500 million people. Under the theme "Hello, Shenyang," a series of global promotion events have been planned in collaboration with various media outlets, including the "Hello, Shenyang" global promotion event in Paris, the "2024 Korea-Shenyang Week" and "Hello, Shenyang" global promotion (Seoul), the "Hello, Shenyang" global promotion event in Sydney, Australia, and reports such as "Three-Year Action Plan: The Year of Overcoming challenges and forging ahead in Shenyang | Connecting the World through the City: The Grand Vision of 'International Shenyang'". These initiatives provide a comprehensive and multi-dimensional showcase of Shenyang's international urban image, generating significant attention both domestically and internationally for the city's "International Shenyang" development.
Moving forward, Shenyang Foreign Affairs Office will continue to deepen cooperation with central and local media with an aim to expedite the development of an internationalized center city in Northeast Asia and to become a leading hub for open cooperation in the region. Shenyang FAO will further promote the "Hello, Shenyang" global branding, tell the story of Shenyang in China’s narrative, and enhance the "International Shenyang" brand to further boost the city's international reputation and influence.
