On November 14th, Wang Jian, Vice President and Secretary General of the Organization for Promoting Austrian-Chinese Relations and his delegation visited Shenyang. Chen Shuangwei, Director of Shenyang Foreign Affairs Office, met with the delegation and had in-depth exchanges on further deepening the practical cooperation between both sides.

Chen Shuangwei stated that Shenyang is an international central city in Northeast Asia, a national historical and cultural city, and an international comprehensive transportation hub. Currently, Shenyang isthoroughly implementing the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches and instructions on the all roundrevitalization of Northeast China and Liaoning Province, fully implementing the three-year action plan for comprehensive revitalization to make new breakthroughs,and its economic and social development is showing an upward trend. Shenyang attaches great importance to developing friendly relations with Austria. In September this year, Wang Xinwei, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Liaoning Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Shenyang Municipal Committee, led a delegation to visit Austria and held talks with Ernst Woller, First President of the Vienna Provincial Parliament. Under the joint witness of both sides, Shenyang People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Organization for Promoting Austrian-Chinese Relationssigned an agreement on the establishment of friendly and cooperative relationship. It is hoped that both sides will pragmatically and intensively carry out exchanges and cooperation in fields such as culture, art and education, strengthen people to peopleexchanges, and contribute local strength to consolidating the public support for China-Austria friendship.

Wang Jian said that during this visit, he fully felt the achievements of Shenyang's economic and social development as well as the unique charm of an international metropolis, and gained a lot. In the future, he will be committed to building a platform for exchanges and cooperation between the two sides, taking culture, tourism, music education and art exchanges as the starting points, jointly creating high-quality exchange activities, giving full play to resource advantages and deeply cultivating the friendly foundation.

The delegation also conducted on-site visit to the Shengjing Grand Theatre and the Yuhong Joy Shore Complex Project.
