From December 2nd to 6th, the Fifth "China Shenyang-Japan Sasebo Youth Paint Works Exhibition" was held in Sasebo, Japan. Miyajima Daisuke, Mayor of Sasebo,attended the exhibition.
As one of the series events to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of friendly and cooperative relations between the two cities, the exhibition was jointly organized by Shenyang Municipal People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Sasebo Municipal Government and Bellpo Society,a Japanese NPO social education group. Under the theme "peace, friendship, goodwill, and hope", 200 paintings by young people from the two cities were exhibited, showcasing their different interpretations of Chinese and Japanese culture and their good aspirations for world peace and friendship. It broadens the vision of young people and enhances mutual understanding and friendship. Shenyang contributed ninety-six paintings displayed with messages from the painters, showcasingthe urban landscape, landmark buildings, and unique cuisine of Shenyang from young perspectives, telling the Shenyang story and conveying a friendly voice.
This event has been held annually in turn between both cities since 2019, and the Sixth "China Shenyang-Japan Sasebo Youth Paint Works Exhibition" will be held in Shenyang in 2025. By then, a group of students from Sasebo will visit Shenyang and engage in exchanges and interactions, promoting further exchanges and cooperation in youth, culture, and other fields between the two cities.
