Shenyang Participates in South Korea's"2025 Daejeon Zero Hour Festival"

At the invitation of the Daejeon Metropolitan City Government of South Korea, from August 7th to 11th, the Foreign Affairs Office of Shenyang Municipal Government facilitated Shenyang City University's participation in the "2025 Daejeon Zero Hour Festival".

During the event, the Marching Band of Shenyang City University performed classic Chinese pieces such as My Motherland and I, and Ode to the Motherland, as well as traditional South Korean folk songs like Arirang and Doraji. Their performances received warm applause from the on-site audience, showcasing Shenyang's open and inclusive urban image and profound cultural heritage to the citizens of Daejeon Metropolitan City.

The "Zero Hour Festival" is an international brand event of Daejeon Metropolitan City, first held in 2023. It aims to demonstrate Daejeon's innovative vitality as the "Science and Technology Capital of South Korea" and promote exchanges between friendship cities and international cooperation through cultural and artistic activities. This year's event has invited 10 overseas cities, including Chinese cities such as Shenyang, Wuhan, Qingdao and Hefei, as well as cities from Japan, Thailand, Mexico and other countries.

As one of South Korea's six metropolitan cities, Daejeon covers an area of 539.5 square kilometers with a population of 1.45 million. It is an important science and technology innovation center in South Korea, known as the "Silicon Valley of South Korea". Shenyang and Daejeon Metropolitan City became friendship cities in July 2014.
