At the opening ceremony, two teenagers from the Liaoning Provincial Figure Skating Team danced on the ice.
Afterwards, team representatives from 14 cities across the province entered the stadium, kicking off the Youth Winter Games.
The First Liaoning Youth Winter Games is a concentrated review of the reserve talents of Liaoning Ice and Snow Project.
It aims at discovering and selecting talents, and promoting Liaoning's construction of a strong province in ice and snow sports.
The First Youth Winter Games set up speed skating, short track speed skating, figure skating, alpine skiing, freestyle skiing, snowboarding and ice hockey, as well as the two summer cross-item selection items, speed roller skating and cross-country pulley.
A total of 5 major events, 9 sub events, and 134 minor events will be set up, and 220 gold medals will be awarded.The number of direct participants will exceed 3,000.
