Shenyang Mayor Jiang Youwei met with Hiroki Ikeda, Executive Officer of Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation at People's Government of Shenyang Municipality on May 20. The main purpose of Hiroki Ikeda and the delegation was to discuss matters related to the construction of a filtration membrane plant in Shenyang. 

Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation is the leading company in the Japanese chemical industry. Their sales volume is among the highest in the Japanese chemical industry. The municipal government delegation visited the company during their visit to Japan at the beginning of this year and both sides agreed to carry out cooperation in various fields. 

On behalf of the municipal government, Jiang Youwei welcomed the arrival of Hiroki Ikeda and his delegation and briefed them on the economic and social development of Shenyang. He said that since the beginning of this year, Shenyang's economy has maintained steady progress and sound fundamentals, the quality and efficiency of economic operation have been continuously improved, and the vitality of revitalizing development has been further demonstrated. He hoped that Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation would make a good start by investing in the construction of filter membrane plant in Shenyang, and continuously expand the fields of cooperation, especially in the construction of industrial parks and the cultivation of industrial ecospheres, so as to achieve mutual benefits and win-win results. He said the municipal government and relevant regions and departments will actively create conditions to fully support the project construction and provide follow-up services. 

Hiroki Ikeda said that Shenyang is a developing city. There are bright prospects for cooperation between both sides. He said that Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation is willing to make full use of its advantages to improve Shenyang's sewage treatment capacity and contribute to the sustainable development of the city. 

Vice Mayor Yu Zhenming also attended the meeting.
