Shenyang Mayor Jiang Youwei met with Matthew Rous, CEO of China-Britain Business Council and the delegation on June 3.
China-Britain Business Council is one of the important bridges between China and Britain in economic and trade exchanges. It is a non-profit trade promotion agency co-funded by Department of Trade and Industry of the UK government and the industrial circles. China-Britain Business Council has nearly 1,000 member companies with offices in 13 cities in China and 11 cities in the UK. China-Britain Business Council Offices in Shenyang was established in 2005. It has been committed to promoting exchanges between governments and enterprises at all levels in Northeast China and the British community. The economic and trade cooperation between Shenyang and the UK is in good condition. By the end of 2018, 89 British investment enterprises had been approved.
Jiang Youwei welcomed the arrival of Matthew Rous and his delegation and briefed them on the economic and social development of Shenyang. He said that Shenyang's economy has maintained steady progress and sound fundamentals. The economy of Shenyang has maintained a fast development speed and the development environment is improving. The quality and efficiency of economic operation have been continuously improved, and the vitality of revitalizing development has been further demonstrated. He hoped that China-Britain Business Council would further promote exchanges and cooperation between Shenyang enterprises and British enterprises in the broader fields of investment and trade, and introduce more British enterprises to invest in Shenyang.
Matthew Rous said that China-Britain Business Council will further deepen cooperation and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results by focusing on the development strategy of Shenyang, especially the needs of Shenyang for high-tech enterprises and advanced equipment manufacturing enterprises.
