From July 21 to July 25, Director Chen Shuangwei and Vice Director Ye Hang of the Foreign Affairs Office of Shenyang Municipal Government led working teams to Northern Heavy Industries Group, Shenyang Tianjiang Laolongkou Distillery Co Ltd, Shenyang 83 High School and Wellhope Co Ltd, and held awarding ceremonies of the tile of Shenyang International Exchange Demo Center.

Northern Heavy Industries Group has played a very important role in both domestic and international heavy-duty machinery manufacturing industry and has been well-known as “the cradle of the Chinese heavy-duty machinery industry”. With a long history of over 340 years, Laolongkou enjoys profound cultural heritage and its products have been distributed in countries and regions including ROK, DPRK, Japan, Russia and Hong Kong. Shenyang 83 High School has conducted innovative online educational exchanges with Hastings, New Zealand, which have not only broadened the international horizon of the students but also presented the positive and passionate image of high school students of Shenyang. Having a well-developed international market layout in Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia and South Asia, Wellhope Co Ltd is a national leading company in agricultural industrialization, which gives impetus to industrial development of Shenyang. Shenyang FAO spoke highly of the important role of the companies and school in presenting the international profile of Shenyang and increasing the international influence of Shenyang. It is hoped that they will continue to serve as a model to make greater contributions in facilitating international exchange of Shenyang.

Shenyang FAO also introduced the international security circumstances that face overseas Chinese citizens, enterprises and organizations and briefed the companies about policies on protection of safety and security as well as legitimate rights and interests overseas.

Heads of the companies and school said that they will take the opportunity of being conferred the title of Shenyang International Exchange Demo Center to strengthen international exchanges and cooperation and contribute to Shenyang’s endeavor to build itself into a world-class city. Wang Hongwei, Secretary of the Party Committee of NHI, said that NHI will further expand its channels to explore international market and integrate into the Belt and Road initiative. Li Xiushi, Chairman of Shenyang Tianjiang Laolongkou Distillery Co Ltd, pointed out that Laolongkou will improve the core competitiveness of its products, proactively expand international business and earn greater reputation in the international market. Zhao Gang, Principal of Shenyang 83 High School said that the school will further enhance exchanges and cooperation with foreign counterparts and establish long-term exchange mechanism with relevant schools to deepen educational exchanges and cooperation between Shenyang and foreign countries. Wang Zhenyong, Vice President of Wellhope Co Ltd, noted that Wellhope will take advantage of the Belt and Road initiative, give full play to strengths such as technology, talents, management and capital and tap the potential of the broader international market so as to make greater contributions to the opening-up and high standard social and economic development of Shenyang. 

Shenyang FAO will, according to the standards of having great awareness of opening-up, serving as a positive example, being operated in a well-regulated manner and having full-fledged facilities, confer titles of Shenyang International Exchange Demo Center to relevant industrial parks, exhibition centers, scenic spots in areas such as economy and trade, science and technology, sports, education, health, culture and tourism and catering. The demo centers will function in conducting international exchange and providing services to present the economic and social development and cultural and historical heritages of Shenyang.
