On July 31, the special Work team of Shenyang International Sister City held a coordination meeting to summarize the exchanges with international sister cities in key areas and regions in recent years, and arranged key tasks for the next stage. The meeting was presided over by Liu Zhenning, member of the Party Leadership Group of the Municipal Foreign Affairs Office and the Deputy Secretary General of Shenyang PAFFC. The Municipal Education Bureau, the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, the Municipal Commerce Bureau, the Municipal Culture, Tourism, Radio and Television Bureau, the Municipal Health Commission, the Municipal Sports Bureau, and the responsible comrades of Heping District, Shenhe District, Dadong District and Faku County participated in the meeting.

At the meeting, municipal departments and districts closely focused on the theme of "serving Shenyang's high-quality development and high-level opening up to the outside world", and reported on the work in recent years and the work plan for the next stage. Liu Zhenning stressed the importance of the work of international sister cities, fully affirmed the work achievements of municipal departments and districts, and made arrangements for the next step.

The meeting pointed out that the international sister city is a bridgehead for high-level opening to the outside world, an important carrier of civil diplomacy, and an important platform for Shenyang to build an international center city in Northeast Asia. Over the years, Shenyang has thoroughly implemented the important directive spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping on " three batches" in the work of international sister cities, established international sister city relations with 101 cities in 43 countries, and deepened pragmatic exchanges and cooperation in many fields, effectively promoting the opening up of the city in various fields. Municipal departments and districts should deeply understand the important role of international sister city work, take the initiative to integrate into the work pattern of Shenyang's "sister city", develop and promote the international sister city exchange plan in accordance with the work objectives of “plan based, activities supported and brand oriented” to make sure the work is carried out in a well-organized way with a clear list and responsibility,  improve the quality of external publicity, and create a sister city activity brand for building an "international Shenyang". The Foreign Affairs Office of the Municipal Party Committee (Foreign Affairs Office of the Municipal Government) will continue to play a leading role, strengthen the coordination and supervision of the work of international sister cities, strengthen the effectiveness mechanism, and work with municipal departments and districts to gather a strong force to promote the work of international sister cities in the new era with high quality, and constantly create a new situation for the work of international sister cities in our city.
