On September 11th, Shenyang People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (PAFFC) held the "Donation Ceremony of Flying Tigers' Relics by Mr. Chen Canpei". Liu Zhenning, member of the Leading Party Members Group of the Municipal Foreign Affairs Office and full - time Vice President of Shenyang PAFFC, Chen Dongmei, the Vice President of Shenyang PAFFC, Xing Yingjie, the Deputy Magistrate of the People's Government of Faku County, and the relevant responsible people of the Northeast Aviation History Museum attended the event. The participants jointly reviewed the history, paid tribute to the martyrs, and had in-depth exchanges on carrying forward the spirit of Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and internationalism, and inheriting the profound friendship between China and the United States formed during the Anti-Fascist War.Mr. Chen Canpei has long been committed to the historical research and cultural relics protection of the Flying Tigers (the American Volunteer Group). He has donated more than 400 pieces of historical materials to the museum 5 times successively.At this event, Mr. Chen Canpei donated more than 130 precious Flying Tigers' relics, including clothes, photos, badges, stamps, etc., to the Northeast Aviation History Museum. He also explained the vivid historical stories behind the relics, showing the eventful years during Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. The Northeast Aviation History Museum accepted the donation on-site and presented calligraphy and painting works to Mr. Chen Canpei in return. The participants had a discussion and exchange on the history of the Flying Tigers and the exchanges and cooperation between Shenyang and the United States.Mr. Chen Canpei sincerely thanked Shenyang for its high attention and careful protection of the Flying Tigers' relics. He looked forward to further promoting the spirit of the Flying Tigers with the support of the Shenyang PAFFC, and is willing to continue to give full play to his own resource advantages to assist Shenyang in expanding the channels of exchanges with the United States. Especially in terms of friendship cities exchanges and youth exchanges, he would actively promote the development of China-US people-to-people friendship.Deputy Magistrate Xing Yingjie said that Faku County has been continuously promoting the combination of red culture and high-quality development, strengthening the construction of red cultural tourism, and constantly expanding opening-up and cooperation. This donation has further enriched the local cultural resources and promoted the development of Faku County through cultural exchanges.The leaders of Shenyang PAFFC said that the spirit of the Flying Tigers symbolizes the valiant commitment of upholding justice and defending peace, and engraves the precious friendship of mutual assistance and sharing weal and woe. President Xi Jinping said that "the hope of the China-U.S. relationship lies in the people, its foundation is in our societies, its future depends on the youth, and its vitality comes from exchanges at subnational levels". Shenyang PAFFC will actively build bridges for people-to-people exchanges, practical cooperation, cultural exchanges, and youth friendship, continuously deepen exchanges and cooperation in cultural, educational, and economic and trade fields, promote the diversified mutual learning, and promote people-to-people friendship between China and the United States.This event was held on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. It is a specific measure to deeply implement the spirit of the important instruction of President Xi Jinping that a sound and steady development of the relationship in the new era requires the input and support of a new generation of Flying Tigers, and it is hoped that the spirit of Flying Tigers will be carried on from generation to generation among Chinese and American peoples.
