“Hello, Shenyang”‌ 2025 Shenyang-Vienna Youth Exchange Event and Vienna Boys Choir Concert Concluded Successfully

As a key achievement of Shenyang delegation visit in 2024, the world-renowned Vienna Boys Choir toured Shenyang from September 23-25. The “‌Hello, Shenyang”‌ - 2025 Shenyang-Vienna Youth Exchange Event was successfully held at Shenyang University, followed by a soul-stirring concert at Shengjing Grand Theatre. Through several interactions in music, culture, and sports, this event composed a new chapter in China-Austria friendship and revitalized the “‌Hello, Shenyang”‌ brand.

During the youth exchange, the choir's conductor conducted masterclass for four outstanding Shenyang children's choirs, refining vocal techniques. The Vienna Boys Choir rehearsed and performed Austrian folk song When You Walk Through the Valley with Shenyang Radio and Television Station Children’s Choir, alongside the Chinese song Contentment. Their angelic voices transcended language barriers, earning thunderous applause. The Shenyang Radio and Television Station Children’s Choir also signed a cooperation agreement with Beijing Friends of Vienna Boys Choir Club Management Co., jointly unveiling the plaque of Friends of Vienna Boys Choir Club‌, marking a new milestone in cultural collaboration.

Promoted by Shenyang Foreign Affairs Office, Municipal Bureau of Culture, Tourism, Radio and Television, and Shenyang Radio and Television Station, the concert showcased a four-century-spanning program: from Johann Strauss II’s waltz Viennese Character to The Blue Danube, from Schubert’s Erlkönig to Elgar’s Dance, from the beloved Italian song Volare to the lively themes from Finding Nemo and a Daft Punk medley in PTX style, combining classical elegance with modern energy. This concert not only delighted citizens but also enriched Shenyang's multicultural identity as an international central city in Northeast Asia, showcasing the city's “International Shenyang"‌ image of openness, friendliness, dynamism and modernity.

Moving forward, Shenyang will continue to create an upgraded version of “International Shenyang", expanding international engagement, enhancing urban sophistication, and elevating its global influence to advance its vision as an international central city in Northeast Asia.
