On April 24, the opening ceremony of the 20th Croisements Festival in Northeast China was held at Shenyang 1905 Cultural and Creative Park. Emmanuel Loriot, Consul General of France, and Florent Aydalot, Minister Counsellor for Culture, Education and Science at the French Embassy in China, attended the event. Representatives from the Foreign Affairs Office of Liaoning Provincial Government, the Foreign Affairs Office of Shenyang Municipal Government, Shenyang Municipal Bureau of Culture, Tourism, Radio and Television, as well as media and other sectors were also present.
Launched in 2006, the Croisements Festival is a regular cultural exchange initiative jointly held by China and France. Successfully organized for 19 previous editions, it has grown into one of the largest foreign art festivals in China and one of France’s most influential cultural brands overseas. It plays a vital role in enhancing mutual understanding and deepening friendship between the Chinese and French peoples.
From April to July this year, the festival will stage 326 diverse cultural events across 44 Chinese cities including Shenyang. Spanning visual arts, performing arts, music, film and other fields, these events showcase the vitality and diversity of Chinese and French artistic creation through varied forms, and continuously advance bilateral exchanges and cooperation in art and culture.
