On May 14, the "Foreign Friends Explore Shenyang (Museums)" event, organized by the Shenyang Museum Association and guided by the Municipal Bureau of Culture, Tourism, Radio, and Television and the Foreign Affairs Office of the Municipal Government, was launched at the Shenyang Imperial Palace Museum. Foreign friends were invited in Shenyang to visit key cultural and museum venues such as the Shenyang Imperial Palace Museum and the Shenyang Industrial Museum, promoting cultural exchanges and mutual learning. Over 40 participants attended, including Annette Sévery, Consul General of Germany in Shenyang, other consular officials, representatives from relevant departments, as well as journalists from news media.
During the event, Consul General Annette Sévery and other consular officials visited the newly launched "Exhibition on the Cultural Relics of Horsemanship and Archery in Qing Dynasty" at the Shenyang Imperial Palace Museum, guided by Li Li, President of the Shenyang Museum Association. Annette Sévery remarked that Shenyang's profound historical and cultural heritage left a deep impression, and the exhibition enhanced her understanding of horsemanship and archery culture in the Qing Dynasty. She expressed hope for future opportunities to promote cooperation and exchanges between Germany and Shenyang in related fields.
The "Foreign Friends Explore Shenyang (Museums)" event is one of the main activities of Shenyang International Museum Day 2026 Week, featuring nearly 60 programs across 38 exhibitions, lectures, and educational events organized by museums in Shenyang. This year's International Museum Day theme, "Museums Uniting a Divided World" emphasizes the role of museums as active cultural ambassadors in a globalized world with diverse civilizations, breaking down barriers, fostering consensus, promoting the exchange and mutual learning of human civilizations, and building a shared future for humanity.
