On August 9th, Shaojia Village in Panjiapu Town, Liaozhong District, hosted the inaugural 2025 Shenyang Metropolitan Circle Rural Health Run and Shaojia Village "Village Run" , a vibrant event blending sports and nature. U.S. Consul General in Shenyang, Mr. William Coleman, and other consular officials participated, immersing themselves in the revitalizing energy of rural development brought by the integration of agriculture, culture, and tourism.

Guided by the Shenyang Municipal Sports Bureau, Shenyang Municipal Bureau of Culture, Tourism, Radio & Television, Shenyang Foreign Affairs Office, the CPC Liaozhong District Committee, and Liaozhong District People's Government, the event was jointly organized by the Publicity Department of the CPC Liaozhong District Committee, Liaozhong District Practice Center for the Advancement of Civilization, Liaozhong District Bureau of Culture, Tourism, Radio & Television, and Liaozhong District Foreign Affairs Office. It was hosted by Panjiapu Town People's Government and the Shaojia Village Committee. Nearly 700 running enthusiasts from across China and abroad participated. The event featured two race categories: a 10-kilometer Health Run and a 4-kilometer Fun Run. The organizing committee thoughtfully provided runners with local delicacies like “guobaorou” (sweet and sour pork), stewed “nongjia menzi” (a savory peasant pudding), meatballs, and “taoguo” (fried dough twists) as refreshments. Prizes brimming with rustic charm included locally produced premium "Academician" rice and white geese, bringing authentic village flavors. This comprehensive approach crafted the Village Run into a unique rural sports experience—imbued with local character, showcasing countryside charm, and evoking nostalgic memories. The committee also arranged a face-painting activity, creating a cheerful atmosphere and adding color to the event. An array of intangible cultural heritage crafts representing Liaozhong's cultural heritage—including intricate miniature architecture (zhake), paper-cutting, and sugar figurines—were displayed, allowing participants to experience Panjiapu Town's distinctive allure firsthand.During the run, consular officials witnessed and experienced the accomplishments of rural revitalization and the new spirit of farmers in the new era. Unable to contain their genuine delight, they enthusiastically praised Shaojia Village's natural beauty, ecological harmony, and rustic charm. Local villagers warmly welcomed the international participants, eagerly taking photos with the consular officials. This warm interaction became a vivid illustration of the principle that "The foundation of China-U.S. relations lies in the people, and the hope rests with the people."
