On January 28, a five-member delegation led by Li Jun, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the CPC Wuhan Municipal Committee visited the Foreign Affairs Office of the CPC Shenyang Municipal Committee for research and working exchanges. This is an important exchange event following the signing of the strategic cooperation framework agreement between the two sides. They conducted in-depth discussions on foreign media services, consular protection and its publicity under the new circumstances, as well as how foreign affairs services can support investment promotion and the attraction of talents, and jointly explored ways to further elevate the standard of foreign affairs work.

During the meeting, Ye Hang, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the CPC Shenyang Municipal Committee, shared the practices in telling Shenyang’s stories through international voices, building the global promotion brand of "Hello, Shenyang", and the working mechanisms and emergency response measures for consular services and protection. Deputy Director Li Jun introduced the advanced experience of Wuhan in the institutionalization and standardization of consular protection publicity and foreign media services. The two sides also exchanged experience on effectively integrating foreign affairs resources to serve local development, leveraging foreign affairs resources to boost economic and trade cooperation, attracting talents, and innovating international communication methods to promote cities.
Both sides hold the view that as regional central cities, Shenyang and Wuhan are currently faced with the complex and volatile international situation and the ever-growing demands for foreign affairs work. The foreign affairs offices of the two cities need to further strengthen mutual learning and experience sharing, improve the coordination mechanism, innovate working approaches, and take proactive actions. They will work hand in hand to promote the quality and efficiency of local foreign affairs work, so as to better serve the country's overall diplomacy.
During their stay in Shenyang, Deputy Director Li Jun and his delegation also visited the Consular District of Foreign Countries in Shenyang and held working exchanges with the relevant responsible comrades of the Foreign Affairs Service Center of the Foreign Affairs Office of Liaoning Provincial People's Government.
Going forward, the foreign affairs offices of the two cities will further deepen exchanges and cooperation, join hands to open a new chapter in local foreign affairs work for both sides, and contribute more foreign affairs strength to serving the country's overall diplomacy and the economic and social development of the two localities.
