On March 13, a working group from Shenyang Municipal Foreign Affairs Office and Shenyang People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries Visited Shenyang High-Tech Enterprises Association for exchange. The two sides discussed topics including enabling the development of the city’s high-tech enterprises through foreign affairs and building a platform for international scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation, so as to further match the overseas development needs of enterprises precisely and support Shenyang’s high-tech enterprises in “going global” to expand markets and strengthen cooperation.

Guo Hongyan, Deputy Director of Shenyang Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, introduced the achievements in building a world-class international business environment and enhancing the city’s internationalization level. He stated that the Municipal Foreign Affairs Office will focus on the actual needs of enterprises in foreign exchanges and cooperation, give full play to the advantages of foreign affairs resources and channels, provide foreign affairs services in international exchanges and cooperation, overseas resource connection and other fields, and help the city’s high-tech enterprises expand overseas markets and deepen international scientific and technological cooperation. Chen Dongmei, Vice President of Shenyang People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, briefed on the association’s work in conducting non-governmental friendly exchanges with foreign countries and serving Shenyang’s high-level opening-up and high-quality development. She added that the association will rely on its own resources and the council members to accurately respond to the international cooperation needs of Shenyang High-Tech Enterprises Association and its member enterprises, and build a bridge for people-to-people exchange.

Fan Cunyan, Executive President and Secretary General of Shenyang High-Tech Enterprises Association, introduced the general development of high-tech enterprises in Shenyang and the achievements made in serving the member enterprises and supporting them in “going global” to participate in international competition.

Next, the two sides will further consolidate the synergy between foreign affairs services and scientific and technological innovation development, injecting more scientific and technological impetus and international elements into the development of Shenyang as an international central city in Northeast Asia.

Representatives from five member enterprises, including Shenyang Rustproof Packaging Material Co., Ltd. Liaoning Fushide High-Tech Development Co., Ltd., Shenyang Huifeng Machinery Co., Ltd., Shenyang Heyan Technology Co., Ltd., and Shenyang Hongqi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., shared their experience in expanding overseas markets and their actual needs based on their own development. Heads of relevant departments of the Municipal Foreign Affairs Office answered questions concerning enterprises’ “going global” efforts, providing professional guidance for efficient overseas expansion.

Founded in 2018, Shenyang High-Tech Enterprises Association has gathered more than 5,000 national-level high-tech enterprises across the city, with the annual output value of member enterprises reaching approximately 400 billion yuan. The association has established 13 district/county-level branches, 6 overseas offices and 11 professional committees, and holds more than 200 activities annually such as high-tech enterprise cultivation, government-enterprise symposiums and financial matchmaking events.
