On March 16th, Guo Hongyan, Deputy Director of Shenyang Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, met with Didier Denayer, Economic and Commercial Counsellor for Wallonia, Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium, and his delegation. Both parties engaged in friendly exchanges on deepening pragmatic cooperation in multiple fields.

Deputy Director Guo Hongyan extended a warm welcome to the visit of Counsellor Didier Denayer and his delegation, and introduced the economic and social development of Shenyang in recent years. He said that Shenyang is accelerating the construction of an international central city in Northeast Asia, and the level of opening up to the outside world continues to improve. He hoped that this visit would serve as an opportunity to further explore new opportunities for cooperation and deepen pragmatic cooperation in various fields between the two sides. He sincerely invited the Belgium political and business delegations to visit Shenyang for on-site inspections, open up communication channels, and promote the implementation and effectiveness of cooperation in various fields through high-level mutual visits. He hoped that the overseas warehouse project ADGY would serve as an opportunity to further strengthen cooperation between the two sides in the fields of culture, economy, and trade, continuously deepen economic and trade exchanges, and expand cooperation space. He hoped that the Economic and Commercial Office would play a role as a bridge and bond, actively promoting friendly exchanges between Shenyang and Liège City, Belgium, enhancing people-to-people connectivity, and creating a model of Sino-Belgian local cooperation.

Counsellor Didier Denayer expressed his gratitude to Shenyang for the warm reception. He said that he was deeply impressed by Shenyang’s development vitality and strong international atmosphere. Economic and Commercial Office for Wallonia Region is willing to join hands with the Shenyang Municipal Foreign Affairs Office to further expand cooperation in broader fields and at deeper levels, such as cargo air routes, higher education, and sister-city exchanges, based on promoting cooperation in projects such as artwork import and export and overseas warehouse construction, thus achieving mutual benefit and win-win results.
