Three more lines will be built by 2024. It will be more convenient for citizens to travel by metro. The newly planned urban rail network in Shenyang is composed of 16 lines of "7 horizontal lines, 7 vertical lines and 2 L-shaped lines", with a total length of 630 kilometers. The news was released on November 25 at the Working Report of Shenyang on the Creation of a National Public Transportation Demonstration City. The network covers all large-scale passenger distribution points and major transport corridors. At the same time, four rail networks, including metro, high-speed rail, urban rail and tram, are planned as a whole to build a integrated rail transit system.

Shenyang Metro Co.,Ltd. has three lines under construction currently, which are Line 10, Line 4, Line 1 and the southern extension of Line 2. The total length of Metro Line 10 Project is 27.21 kilometers, with 21 stations. At present, the main line project has been basically completed and the comprehensive joint adjusting is under way. It is expected to be put into trial operation by the end of the year. The first phase of the Metro Line 4 Project is 34.021 kilometers long with 23 stations. It is currently in the stage of full-scale civil construction. The south extension project of Metro Line 2 with a total length of 13.7 kilometers and 7 stations was officially started construction in August this year.

In addition, Shenyang Metro Co.,Ltd. plans to build a total of three lines currently, namely Line 3 phase I, Line 6 phase I and Line 1 eastern extension, with a total length of 89.4 kilometers. The first phase of Metro Line 3 Project is 38.4 kilometers long from Baobadadao (Baoma Avenue) Station to Xintaijie (Xintai Street) Station, with 28 stations. The construction is planned to start before the end of the year. The first phase of the Metro Line 6 Project is 36 kilometers long from Yalujiangjie (Yalujiang Street) Station to Yingchunjie (Yingchun Street) Station with 32 stations. According to the construction plan, the construction will begin before 2024. The eastern extension of Metro Line 1, which runs from Limingguangchang (Liming Square) Station to Shiboyuan (Shenyang Expo Garden) Station, is 15 kilometers long and has 9 stations.
